We will be offering consultation services to those who require it. With our personal experiences as a critical advantage, we aim to lessen the burdens of currently attending students by offering assistance, guidance and a network of support. In light of the opening of a new branch, we are currently offering a special discount for any students registering for this fall session. This fall session is priced at $960 for 8 weeks of lessons, 4 hours a week.

Mind the Gap – Intergenerational Theatre Workshop Fall 2015 application is now open! Mind the Gap (MTG) is a FREE program that brings together teens (ages 14-19) and elders (ages 60+) to share their stories and write plays inspired by each other’s lives. The program culminates in a work-in-progress presentation of the plays, read by professional actors. No theatre experience is required!

CAMINO AL FUTURO
Camino al Futuro is an intensive summer/fall program running from June 27th to September 19th designed to connect immigrant Latino/Latina youth to NYC. They cover a lot of different issues that affect our immigrant youth community including, migration, NYC discovery, self exploration, college access and visits, and much more. The program is opened to Latinas and Latinos that are currently in the 9th grade and will be 10th graders in the Fall.

South Asian Youth Action (SAYA!) is the nation’s only secular youth development organization dedicated to serving low income South Asian youth. Our mission is to create opportunities for South Asian youth to realize their fullest potential. This summer we are excited to offer FREE programs in SAT & PSAT prep, leadership development and additional enrichment programs in athletics and arts from July 6th-August 14th. These programs are open to students who will be entering 9th-12th grade for the 2015-2016 school year.
SAYA!’s Elmhust Center summer program model combines a leadership and college guidance course with a preparatory course for the SAT or PSAT test. Additionally, students receive one on one college guidance and academic support, as well as opportunities for trips to visit local and out of state colleges.
In order to apply, students must complete the following steps below. Once their FULL application is received, they will be alerted if they have been accepted into our program. Applications will be accepted until we have filled all of our seats, and decisions will begin being announced on MAY 18th, via email. Programs begin July 6th and will run until the middle of August.

Steps to Apply:
- Review the attached description of programs. Based on your grade level and interest, select which program fits you best!
- Complete the application at the link below. Remember, you will be accepted based on your answers to these application questions, so take time to complete the application completely.
- Return the attached parent permission forms to our Elmhurst Center. We are open Tuesday-Thursday from 11AM-630PM and Friday & Saturday from 10AM-5PM to accept your documents.
- If you are applying to Desi Girls, DMS or ARISE, you must submit a copy of your most recent transcript (can be unofficial) OR a letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or SAYA! staff member.
- If you are applying to SAYA!’s Institute for Public Service, you must submit a copy of your most recent transcript (can be unofficial) AND a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor. You will also be invited for an in person interview at our Elmhurst Center.
Position Available: High School Tutor for BOOST
BOOST (Best Out of School Time) is an after-school program that operates in local community libraries within the Queens Library system with a mission to enhance the academic and social skills of children ages 6 to 14, and promote greater appreciation for the library community. BOOST is seeking Teen Tutors to help ensure the quality and delivery of after school enrichment and homework help throughout the school year from 3:00pm to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. The Teen Tutors will work with the Children’s Librarian, the Activity Assistant and will report to the Teen Tutor Coordinator.

- Available to work from 3:00 – 6:00pm; 15 hours per week Monday-Friday .

The internship is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. It begins after Winter Break and benefits will include community service hours, free SAT classes, and monthly raffles. Program also includes unlimited 20 minute sessions available between 9:00 am and 12:00 midnight to be scheduled at least one hour in advance. There are no restrictions on the number of these sessions per day.

Focusing on architecture, construction, and engineering, teams of students and mentoring firms are assembled and meet throughout the school year at the firm offices. The students plan and design innovative projects mirroring "real-world" conditions while mentors help them develop solutions using basic problem-solving techniques and state-of-the-art design tools. The teams also tour construction sites and notable buildings to see firsthand what is required to design and erect these kinds of structures.
In addition to acquiring new knowledge and skills, students are eligible for ACE scholarships and gain contacts that can help with college admissions, internships and full-time employment. ACE enhances the mentoring firm profile and the individual mentor's presentation and communication skills as well as preparing the future workforce.
